Consolidate into these 2 sheet and create one pivot table

    Hi all,

I think I posted it but somehow I didn't get the ways / steps to build my own.
    Currently using Excel 2010 version.

    Please refer to the attached.

I got 2 sheets of raw data
Sheet 1 - Case Movement by Order Date
Sheet 2 - Case Movement by Despatch Date.

Reason why I need to combine both sheet and populate into 1 pivot table , is because both sheets needed in order to determine the actual movement.
Both sheet format are the same in terms of header, list of product, etc. (I cut short the list of the data due to size limitation to attach into this forum)

Hence, I need all the expert to show me / guide me steps on how to consolidate these 2 sheet and populate into Pivot Table, and eventually populate into PivotChart for analysis.

I definitely need to learn, because I may need to have another sheet in future (Case Movement by Invoice Date), but let's work out whatever we have.

Appreciate all the expert's guidance urgently.

    Thanks

    Regards

The way you have the data organized, it is basically useless for a pivot table. Yes, we could combine all 64 columns for each table, but then you have 64 headers to deal with in the pivot table. Also it looks like you add one column per day.

I could write a routine that would normalize the data for you, but it would be a one-time shot and you would have to run it every day.

Before doing that, it would help if you could describe where this data comes from and how it is filled in. There may be a better way to do this such as taking just the daily data and appending it to the historical data. Better still would be to get the data in normalized form.

The attached document should give you an idea of what normalized data looks like.

One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
