    Waterfall graph issue

    Hi all

I have a waterfall chart that is giving me some issues. I am having some logic problem that I hoping someone can pls help me fix.

I have data for my 8 accounts. Basically, what I am trying to show is the 2016 income and then how the groups have been performing so far in 2017. When I try to graph it, I cant seem to show graph a waterfall effect that totals to my 2017 number. ALthough there are no negative amounts, I cant seem to make the numbers fit on the graph properly.

i know this is quick fix. I have attached a template. if someone can pls help?!

The difference btw 2016 and 2017 revenue is 55.4 but dont know how to make the graph be in synch so it can show a waterfall effect?

    Re: Waterfall graph issue

I am not sure what effect you are going, but I would guess that you are right that it is something simple -- figuring out what values to put in which columns of row 11.

As one wild guess, since a waterfall chart is basically a specially formatted stacked column chart, what if we simply stacked 2017 on top of 2016 for the final entry? C11=C2 and E11=M26? Or maybe C11=C2 and E11=M26-M29?

    Thanks for your reply.

I do see what you did, however, only issue now is, my y-axis makes it look like the business has doubled, know what i mean?

to me, it doesnt matter if 2016 # is the left most value on the x-axis or vice versa....i'm just trying to show a bridge btw the 2016 and 2017....with the difference being "x" value or w/e?

In what way does your original spreadsheet not show a bridge btw 2016 and 2017? What do you need to be different? (You will have to excuse my ignorance, but I am not in financials, so I am not very familiar with the details of what a waterfall chart should show).
