Markers appearing on pivot chart when there is no data in pivot table

Does anyone know how can I get rid of the markers on my pivot chart that appear even though there is no data on that pivot table line/column?

As shown in the attached file on the 'Pivot Chart' tab:
the Apr 13 series should end on Apr 20, but there is '0' marker on Apr 26 & April 29. There should only be markers on Apr 13, Apr 18 & Apr 20.
the Apr 26 series should not start until April 26, but it has '0' markers on Apr 13, Apr 18 & Apr 20. There should only be markers on Apr 26 & Apr 29.

Thanks for any help you have for me

Apparently you can no longer attach documents or images here (I've tried in both Safari & Chrome, Windows and Mac... but nothing), so hopefully my description will be enough.
My Pivot Table looks approx. like this...

    Dates Apr 13 Apr 26
    Apr 13 47
    Apr 18 12
    Apr 20 4
    Apr 26 42
    Apr 29 22

I guess spacing goes out the window in this forum as well...

In my pivot table example, the 47, 12 & 4 were under the Apr 13 column and the 42 & 22 were under the Apr 26 column, but everything was over-written and shoved over to the left, sorry.

To the best of my understanding I have tried to duplicate the issue you describe, however the pivot chart seems to behave as you would like, not as you observed. However, perhaps something in the way the attached file is set up will be helpful.
By the way, the paperclip icon does not work so to attach a file you need to click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Re: Markers appearing on pivot chart when there is no data in pivot table

I had tried the 'go advanced' and manage attachments, but it didn't seem to do anything when I posted; I've tried it again... see if it works this time. It does say that my file is in the 'current attachments', but it did last time as well...

I opened up your file, and that is exactly the result I'm looking for, and the pivot chart matched mine; however I don't want to have update the chart every time there's a new date in the columns of the pivot table(as there will constantly be new dates), which is what it looks like is happening in your example. My table data is set up a bit differently. I only have 2 columns of dates: one for the due date and one for the actual date.

Hopefully the file will actually attach this time, and you'll be able to see what I see.

I went into the select data dialog and looked at your "hidden and empty cells" setting, and it is set to "zero". It sounds like you want this set to "gap" rather than "zero". https://support.office.com/en-us/art...b-9ca49cb92274

Well that was a ridiculously easy fix (if you happened to know that was a setting of course ); thank you so much!!

    Glad that was helpful.
(if you happened to know that was a setting of course )
And this particular setting/option, IMO, has always been obscure and difficult to track down. It never seems to be in the places (like chart properties) where I intuitively want to go looking for it.
