    3-axis (x,y,z) stacked bar chart

    Good morning!

I was hoping to get some help with creating a 3-axis chart containing stacked bar charts for multiple teams. The X-axis would show time (number of Sprints if you are familiar with Scrum) Y-axis would show productivity (Velocity), the Z-axis would show the team name for the particular series denoted by the stacked bar chart. The following picture shows what I have for a given team,
so the Z-axis I'm looking for would have 12 of these charts one behind the other.

Thank you for any help you can offer!
    Steve

I do not believe you can... and it's a good thing in my opinion.

3-d charts are difficult to read and to glean any meaningful information out of. Much less, with 3rd dimension.

It adds nothing to the data and detracts from story/message you are trying to convey.

Yes, I agree with your point about aesthetics. Nonetheless, I need to figure this out for Excel, if possible.

3D clustered column is on of the built in chart types in Excel. Is there some reason you cannot simply use the built in 3D clustered column chart?

At chart creation -- simply choose the 3D column when choosing the chart type (not the column in 3D charts)
After creating a stacked column chart -- Change chart type -> select 3D column chart type.

This help page discusses the different chart types, including the distinctions between "column in 3D" charts and the true 3D column chart. https://support.office.com/en-us/art...a-27cdb19afb90

    It isn't.

3D column chart with Z axis is only available for single stack column. Not for stacked column chart (this is for data legibility reason. Bottom stack will be nearly impossible to read and give no data insight).

3D stacked will be able to cluster by group, but will not be able to plot it to Z axis.
