Incorrect Number Format when double-clicking a value on a Pivot Table

    Hi dear forum,

I have an issue with a Pivot Table in a report. The Pivot Table has Rows and Values. The value is an average duration and is in the format [h]:mm

When double-clicking a certain value a new tab opens and displays all items in that value. The issue here is that on the duration column the format is automatically set to the format m/d/yyyy h:mm.

Is there a way to set it to [h]:mm at all times?

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

An sample sheet will do better than text .

    Hi

    In your raw data it was entered in "01-01-1900 15:23:24" in month day / year / ( B7 & B8 1900 )
    Correct it

Re: Incorrect Number Format when double-clicking a value on a Pivot Table

Thanks for the quick reply! I've corrected it but it didn't solve my issue. The Pivot Table Data is still in the h:mm:ss AM/PM format which I don't want.

Is there a fix to this? Could you set this to automatically display the format [h]:mm upon double-clicking?

Many thanks for your help, Punnam!

Is this a question? If yes, well seconds would be kinda unnecessary because they are not used in the report but it would definitely help.

Re: Incorrect Number Format when double-clicking a value on a Pivot Table

    Hi,

The new sheet uses the format specified by the Normal cell style- usually that includes a General number format. You could change that style to use a custom [h]:mm number format but it will apply to all the cells.

Re: Incorrect Number Format when double-clicking a value on a Pivot Table

    Hi xlnitwit,

thank you for your answer. So there isn't a workaround to this issue? To apply the wanted format onto all cells wouldn't work for me as I have many other formats in my reporting file.

    Best regards,
    Adam

I think you would have to use code to apply a number format after the sheet is created.
