    Pivot table from power query

    Hi guys
I just hope you can help me.
Normaly i do my pivot tables from a file or from a folder, but if i would like to do it, directly to the server, my excel doesn't "help" me on that.
I mean, on my excel at home, excel 2016, i go to :
Data - New query - From Database - From mysql database. Here i get to choose the server, database name, user and password.
On my excel 365 at my office i don't have that option "from mysql database".

Can you help on what to do to have it or "bypass" it?

    Tks in advance
    Best regards
    Pedro

    Hi,

Do you have the mySQL connector installed on your work computer?

Re: Pivot table from power query

    Hello again
Well...it didn't work and i didn't remember that i already had the connector installed. I did last year as an add in.
It does not work cose it doesn't show me all the records and sometimes, doesn't allow me to import to change the way data will appear.
Also, it does not add an option to import from mysql database from data-new query but an icon, like i'm showing you on the picture attached.
Please let me know that you have another solution, cose this one doesn't work.
    Best regards
    Pedro

Re: Pivot table from power query

It looks like you are a version behind the one I have (mine is also ProPlus rather than Business), and presumably the one you have at home, which probably explains the lack of the mySql option. I do not know when that was added.

I'm afraid not unless you can persuade your IT people to update your version.

Re: Pivot table from power query

As far as I'm aware, you need specific license SKU for Office 365 to be able to bring in data from mySQL using PowerQuery.

Office 365 Pro Plus, Enterprise 3 etc.
Also Excel 2016 stand-alone will work.

All other versions will have Access & MS SQL connection but will be missing some of others. If you don't see something like below in your "Get & Transform" menu, you'll probably need different licensing option.

Workaround is to bring in data through MS Query or other methods instead of PowerQuery.
