    sorting by grand total

    I have a pivot table referencing referrals into our company

    In the grand total column, I have total number of referrals for the year

    is there a way to group the data in my pivot table by grand total? "Group" is not an option when I right click the data in the grand total coumn

    Hi Dan,

    By "grouping" do you mean you want Sub Totals for each category / product / date, etc. ?

    May be Data base function much useful for the same instead of Pivot table.

    Select the whole data then press Alt->D->B then click on yes ->> you will get a window subtotal->>> check mark on each calculation field->>> use function what ever your choice ->>> for grouping select in at each change in then ok..

    By above step you will retrieve the subtotal according your group and you will have some tab num 123 in left corner below name box, you can easily check group wise product wise of grand total wise data.

    what I'm needing is basically a list of all referral sources with 1-5 referrals, and 6-10 referrals, 11-15 etc

    You get better help if you add an small excel file, without confidential information.

    Please also add the result manualy in the file.
