    Adding Subheadings to List

I am certainly an Excel beginner but I have looked up and down this forum and others for a solution to this problem but I can't find anything.
I have a long list of items (around 2000) with about a dozen columns of data. One of the columns is titled 'Group'. The group names vary as you go down the list. So, this is what I'm trying to do with the list:
    1. Sort by Group (easy part) creating 'sublists'
    2. Add subheadings (group name) directly above each sublist
The idea is that when one sublist ends the next one begins, starting with its own subheading. And, if this isn't hard enough (hopefully easy to somebody), the number of items in each group will vary from time to time so each sublist will grow and shrink.
    Any ideas?

    Re: Adding Subheadings to List

Would be easier if you attach example excel file (not a picture) but I'll try:

I assume your list has header, so click on your list , use Ctrl+T , Enter. Now you've Excel Table
Now define names for each sublist.
    That's all

now you can insert table row or delete table row
try with DataValidation List for each sublist

    Sandy
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure I follow what you're saying but let me be a little more clear with this sample file. I added 2 tabs: raw data and organized data. I'm hoping there is a way to automatically organize the raw data in a format that appears like the organized data tab. Let me know what you think, thanks!

    Try this PT
You can update Raw Data , then refresh Pivot Table, Filter by Manager
    or
second version (v2) - all the same but Managers are in PT not in the filter
