Double click name to display Name Phone and Email in another sheet

    Hey there!

I am using Excel 2010 and what I am trying to do *should* be rather simple I think, but I just don't know how to do it.

    I have a Workbook with 2 sheets.

Sheet 1 is displaying Names only
Sheet 2 has 4 columns (table); Names, Phone, Address, E-Mail address

What I need Sheet 1 to do is when I double click on any of the names, it opens a new sheet with only that persons name, phone, address, and email address.

Logically I would need to link lets say cell B4 in Sheet 1 to display in a new sheet cells A2, B2, C2, and D2 from Sheet 2.

    Thank You

Yes! That does what I need it to do. How do I get it from a dropdown to my kind of formatting? See pic of Sheet 1 attached.

You don't have to use a dropdown - you just need to have a list with all the names that you want to double-click. If the name is not on the list, then you will enter Edit mode instead of seeing the details.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I know it doesn't have to be in a drop-drown, I just don't even know how to exactly link it. Your example spreadsheet does exactly what I am looking for, but I need Sheet 1 in the formatting I have provided a screenshot of.

Trying to learn as much as I can about Excel!

    Thank You!

EDIT: Nevermind I got it by editing the Name Select, however, I'd still LOVE to know how you achieved this? Thank You!!!!

EDIT 2: Added an extra entry in the Data sheet .... but I guess it doesn't have the same formatting/formula as the rest and doesn't pull anything?

I used the worksheet events to do that. To apply it to your other sheet:

    1) Copy this code.
    2) Right-Click the sheet tab.
    3) Select "View Code"
    4) Paste the code into the window that appears.
    5) Save the file as a macro-enabled .xlsm file.
    6) Make changes as needed to the sheet names and range names
