Bar chart with extra variable.

Hi,
I am trying to do a bar chart where I want to show another variable on the chart. I want to know if this is possible.
So i will give an easy example.

Event A=10 and it appears at time=0.5 sec
Event B=15 and it appears at time=0.8 sec

I want to plot the events as bars, and above each bar I want to show the time so above bar A to say 0.5 sec, etc.

Is this possible in excel? I went trough most of the bar chart options, but it seems that there is no way of doing it.

You can use a 2nd series plotted on the secondary axis and use it's data labels to show different information.

Create a column chart on the data
Move Time series to secondary axis
Use Select Data to change values and category labels of Time series
Add data labels above to the Time series
Change data labels to show category rather than value
Delete secondary vertical axis
Format line to not show

I have used custom number format on Time values to display 'sec' text

So I plotted the bars and I have the names under them. So far so good.
After that I dont understand how you select the time to plot as a line touching each bar. I see that you somehow have two charts on top of each other and for the time one you have just hidden the axis. I didnt get how you did that.
Can you please explain a little bit more detail.

I can select axis data label for the event to show Event A, Event B, etc. Then as a separate data I add the time. But when i change the data lable to show the time the Event lables change to time as well. I didnt get how you separate the axis.

Select the Time series and change chart type to line.

Actually it doesn't matter if it remains a column as the other steps are the same.
