    Scatter graph label

    Hi All,

I am currently trying to display two numeric variables (output 1 and output 2 in my example). I have added a data label to these from column C but as you can see on the graph the points are too close together to read easily, and it looks a mess.

I am trying to display the data label only when I hover over the point with my mouse - I have attached an image to show the current data I get when I hover. In this example I would like the box to show "lemon" and not series "output2" etc.

Any help on this would be appreciated, I've tried everything I can think of

By the way, your data range is wrong.

    Re: Scatter graph label

Your current data range ='Data for excel forum'!$D$2:$E$15. The correct one should be ='Data for excel forum'!$C$2:$E$15.

    Re: Scatter graph label

Thanks, I understand now. However, that allowed me to have output 1 on the x axis and output 2 on the y axis. If I change the data range to include column C, the X axis becomes a count function rather than giving me the layout I require example 2.JPG

    Re: Scatter graph label

If you add each data point as a series you will get tooltip more like you want.

You will need to format each data point to make them appear as a single series rather than unique points.
