Radar chart does not connect across nil value.

Hopefully, the attached image will clearly demonstrate my issue.

I need to create radar charts. The charts have four active and four in-active axis. The two in-active axis are the vertical and horizontal axis. I have been able to get the chart to connect all the lines of the graph to connect across the in-active (nil value) axis - except for the top one.

The top axis is and must remain labelled 'Flexibility'. I have been using the #N/A formula to connect the lines of the graph across all the other 3 in-active axis. Why won't it go across the 4th?

Attach a sample workbook, Excel file (not a picture). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Thanks for your help.

Hopefully you will find attached a workbook.

One sheet shows the current situation. The second I have added lines to show how it should look.

I want the graph to close the lines, ignoring the 'Flexibility' data.

Hope it's clear to see now.

There is more than one point to connect so you can try:
    1. Select Data
    2. Hidden and Empty Cells
    3. Connect data points with line
    4. Add two points to your data table (bold)
    5. Change font color to white (if necessary)

maybe someone else will give you better solution

    Sandy

    Thanks for that.

The first option, ('connect data points with line' in the 'Select Data Source' dialog box), is what I have done already. That option does not seem to work for the 'Flexibility' column, just all the others.

I thought your formula option was going to work well, but when I tried a range of other figures, it did not create straight lines.

I can fudge the figures to create a straight line, and that might be what I have to do. There will be quite a few of these in the study though, not not exactly an efficient method. But it might have to do...

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Sean.

I saw only two lines so I did for two.
Ok, like I said: maybe someone else will give you better solution.

As sandy666 points out you will need to calculate a value for the first data point in order to span the gap.
You will need some trig formula to get the correct value.

You can format the first data point so that no marker is shown

Re: Radar chart does not connect across nil value.

I managed to get a combination chart to work.

Mixture of radar and xy-scatter. The 4 data points for each series need the x and y position calculated. The 1st value can then be repeated in order to close the lines.
I have left the xy-scatter axis so you can see how it works. These can be formatted so they do not appear.
