Question Is it possible o "lock/protect" pivots and leave only the slicers open for changes

    Hi

I am working on a Dashboard my boss would like to email out across the company once its finished.

What would be the best way of protecting it? Stop dabblers :-)

I have the Dashboard tab, on which are company information looked at from various angles, with slicers for each of them (I know I could do charts linked to the same slicer, so change it they all change, but I am not at that stage yet).

I have the pivot tables that populate the graphs, which I currently have hidden when I sent it out.

Will it be easier to create a copy each month, leave my main one clear, but on the 2nd one, lock hidden the workings tabs, and would I be able to lock the graphs/charts on the dashboard leaving only the slicers "live"?

I update the Dashboard during the new week of each month for the entire calendar month before?

I thought it might be easier to have 2 copies (the original - mine) and the locked/restricted one, rather than keep unlocking, editing, locking up again and then sharing?

    Thank you so much

Clair (have a good weekend all) :-)
    Thanks
    Clair

    Hello,
why would you have to edit at all? Ideally, once the dashboard is set up, the only thing that needs to happen each month is a data refresh and that can be set up with Power Query.
