Duplicated Rows in Pivot table -

Hello -I have a large amount of data that I'm using in a pivot table and for some reason it's adding two rows for same record but it seems to me be the same information. I can pinpoint that the issue is the description and I have tried to do

    - Text to column on that one column set
    - Copy and paste as text...
    but nothing.

I can't do a manual update on the raw data sheet because there a way too many rows. Data set is very large!!!

    Help please

    Geger

    Hi

Have you ensure there are no duplicate spaces? Or an additional space at the end in once of the cells?
Sometimes it may also help to ensure the cell format is identical (e.g. one could have format "general", while the other is set to "text")

What is the easiest way to find extra spaces at the end of the description. The data comes from another source and that could be the issue. I have to pull this on a weekly basis so if this continues
I need to find a solution on how to quickly ID those issue cells and cleanup and continue.
So far what I did that worked is to create a separate table on another tab and noted the descriptions and item ID and then vlookup against and it seem to work but if there is an easier way I'm very open to it

    thank you very much !!!

Hi Geger and welcome to the forum,

I'd create a new column that did a formula of Trim() (the rows column). Then I'd copy this Trimmed data and Paste (using values only) over the original. Then run your pivot and see what still duplicates.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
