Question Qualitative survey results in multiple columns

    Hi there,

I have survey results that I am trying to pivot. the problem is that the results to all of my qualitative questions are broken out into multiple columns per question, with binary data in each row. I want to be able to chart all responses to a single question, but creating multiple pivot tables will take too long (I have 50+ different questions)

    Here's an example:

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Cool Re: Qualitative survey results in multiple columns

    Use PowerQuery
    • Click on source table
    • Data - From Table
    • In new window : Transform - Use Headers as first row
    • Transpose
    • Home - Close and Load to
    • As connection
    • then select cell where you want your new table
    • Data - show queries
    • In workbook queries right click on Table and Load to
    • then select Table - existing worksheet (or new worksheet if you wish)
    • Load
Now you can add/change/remove data in your source table then go to Query table, right click and refresh. It should be updated in a few

If that takes care of your original question, & to say Thanks, please click on Add Reputtion (bottom left corner of the post of the person(s) who helped you)
then select Thread Tools from the menu (top right corner of your thread) and mark this thread as SOLVED.
If you did it - ignore it.
    Thank you.
