Editing pivot table made in excel 2013 in an earlier version

    Hi,

I've made 45 pivot tables in Excel 2013 only to found out that it doesnt compatible with 2010 which is the main version we're working with- when opened in 2010 we get the message that "This PivotTable was created in a later version of Excel and can't be updated in this version"

This is probably happen because when creating the pivot I added the data to the worksheet data model (otiose)

I'm trying to find a way to avoid doing all the work again.
    My questions are:
    1. is it possible to some how make it compatible, any method to make it work?
    2. I've tried a semi workaround like unlinking the pivot from its data source wishing to go one by one and link it again to a different one but this erased all fields and charts - isnt it possible to keep the structure of a pivot and just change the data source?

    Thanks in advance
    j

    1. AFAIK - Only way is to not use the data model.
    2. Not when you use data model. Since all pivot structure is dependent on it, once link is changed, all structure will be wiped.

See detail on Data model compatibility.
