Power Pivot - Shows Columns Grand Total on a row

I cannot figure this out, i've search through the web countless hours now, with no luck.

i have 3 tables, which i've added to a data model in PowerPivot, and i have created relationships. But when I make a pivot table, on several of the columns genereated it shows the grand total for a column on the rows.

    Attached Excel Workbook as well.

Cool Re: Power Pivot - Shows Columns Grand Total on a row

Your relationships was wrong and you got warning. If you see warning result will be incorrect.
I added primary key (unique) manually so it will work for this example
You need create primary key to be correct for all tables and will be updated if something will change. You can do this by PowerQuery and add to DataModel.

Re: Power Pivot - Shows Columns Grand Total on a row

    Thanks

I am note quite sure what i made wrong still. I can see that you've made an aditional table called "Items". But is that really necessary? If so, can you maybe explain why, just so i understand the basic difference

Re: Power Pivot - Shows Columns Grand Total on a row

    1. don't quote whole post
    2. you did relationships wrong, connect 1st tbl to 2nd tbl and 1st tbl to 3rd tbl with wrong direction
    3. choose table which will be treated as main table with primary key and connect 2nd and 3rd to the 1st

    1st tbl - 1 to many - 2nd tbl
    1st tbl - 1 to many - 3rd tbl

    you did
    many to 1
    many to 1

I did example, you can ignore Items tbl and do your own relationships
and no, Items tbl is not necessary but easier

    change direction and refresh PivotTable
