Pivot chart changing color for the series (lines)

    Hi,

I have such problem and it is very time consuming to format everything properly.

I want to create few pivot charts with the same scheme color for each of them. So for example I have the same color on each graph for London( purple), Paris( green), Lisbon( blue). Colors are important in this case and I can't change them into anything different, so I can't use any built in scheme.

For me the best solution would be if i can have, for each city color in the column and pick it up in some settings to take the color from this column.

I know that there is the such option in SSRS, but I am wondering if there is any similar option in Excel 2010 or any good solution instead of macro ?

    Thank you for any response.

    Example:
    Table:

    City Color Value Month
    London purple 1.2 1
    Paris green 2.5 1
    Lisbon blue 3 1
    London purple 0.9 2
    Paris green 2.6 2
    Lisbon blue 3.2 2
    London purple 1.5 3
    Paris green 2.4 3
    Lisbon blue 2.8 3pivot chart.png

    Have a read of link.

In general, with Pivot Charts, you have less option to control formats and many techniques utilized in regular chart can't be used.

    Thank you for response.

I think in my situation the best solution to this problem is create color scheme for pivot chart once and the save it as template by clicking on the chart -> Pivot Chart Tools -> Design -> Save As template.

And then i can use this template all the time, i can even share it with other people. It is not ideal, because it is coloring series by number, not name, but it saves a lot of my work.
