    Pivot table styling nuances

    Hi folks,

I import data from third party APIs that have the data in a weird format where all the metrics are in columns and all the dimensions are in rows. Anyhow, I have to use the pivot tables. Sometimes.

I'm trying to give them the layout of the rest of the document and I believe I did what I needed well enough except one thing. Here's my pivot table:

Now, the question is how to make ONLY the two cells that have "Grand Total" to have white font color? You see, my first row and first columns are set to be white, but the total rows are set to be black. So the latter overrides the former and I need to reverse it. Can I?

To attach an Excel file to your post,
    • desensitize data
    • remeber that your example should reflect structure and type of data
    • click Go Advanced,
    • scroll down until you see Manage Attachments,
    • click that and select Browse,
    • select your file and click Open,
    • click Upload and you will see your attachment below Upload Files from a website
    • click Close this window,
    • click Submit reply

After that you should see attachment in your post

I wasn't asking how to attach anything, but thanks.

    PS

honestly, I'll start attaching empty excel files just to stop this useless offtopic.

I really do realize exactly how much value there's in the picture. If it's not enough for someone - don't answer the question. I won't blame. Thanks.

    I choice.
    cheers.

    Hi Cthulchu,

It seems to me you would need to create a Pivot Color Scheme that does what you want. See:

That's what I did. What I'm saying is that in that scheme Grand Total Row and Grand Total Column styles override the first column and first row styles as can be seen on the screenshot.
