I am building an Excel dashboard of promotional sales data for several retail locations. As the dashboard's charts are constructed from pivot tables, I am trying to use slicers to list the different promotions. The promotions have both a number and a text string name, and reference to either of these is interchangeable, so both need to be reflected in my dashboard. Ideally, a slicer tab would look like "1. Promotion String A", "2. Promotion String B", etc., but my attempt at this read the entire field as text and sorted promotions 10-19 in between 1 and 2. I have not found a solution for text string slicers that sort with leading numbers. Is this possible? I could have a key column to the side listing each promotion name's number and leave the slicers as the promotion numbers, but I was hoping to simplify the reference to have both name and number on the slicer.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
