PivotTable - am having some trouble sorting out the mess I made

Hi all, and apologies if this is fairly "novice" question, but have been playing around with this for a few hours and haven't found an elegant solution..

I have a very large dataset in Excel, the most important parts of which are:

Start Date | End Date | Type | Name of var.

The PivotTable I am interested in should display something along the lines of the following:

    Screenshot 2018-05-19 16.05.30.png

I realize this may be a tad confusing, but the idea is that if I change the start date of a var. within Type 2 to a later date that corresponds with "Week range 3", when it was initially in "Week range 1", it'll reflect in the PivotTable. Essentially, this is a Table that serves as a weekly planning chart for me to follow tasks I need to track based on the dataset. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture!). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Thanks for the reply.

Attached is a simple dataset with the relevant data types I'm working around with.
The second sheet is what I would like the PivotTable to look like, basically enabling me to learn from the PivotTable what my weekly tasks are if I end up changing the start-date of any of the required tasks, while it also sub-groups them into the "types", as different types of vars have different requirements etc.

    Many thanks.

Yes that's exactly what I am seeking Thanks!

    EDIT:

The only thing I now need to understand is how to assign every individual date to the date-ranges. How is that performed?

Thanks once again - great assistance

Re: PivotTable - am having some trouble sorting out the mess I made

go to the ribbon: Data - Show Queries
dbl click on the table on the right side
again on the right side you'll see steps how to create source table for PivotTable
so select each step to see every changes

in PivotTable use appropriate fields, then
group first date column (if you use Group on my PT you'll see how it was done)

If that takes care of your original question, & to say Thanks and for better Motivation, please
