Hi - Can you help me with the following?

I have a master data excel file from where I've created a data range using Pivot Table, slicers and INDEX and MATCH. Now this data range feeds into my charts. The user can now select certain filters and the chart will change automatically (as the underlying data range is changed with those selections). My master data has values in % and $.

QUESTION - 1) INDEX and MATCH doesn't return the source format My master data has values in % and $.. % values are pulled as "0.***" and $ values as "#####". Is there a way to restore the source format while using INDEX AND MATCH? This way I can use the Link to source options under Format Axis -> Number tab.

    2) Can the chart axis be formatted automatically to % or $ based on the values in my data range. Please advice!!!

It appear your two questions could be one in the same. You can't have a cell or group of cells with two rotating formats without using VBA. Somehow you need an action to commit the formats.

If you attach a small sample workbook with your intended use, that would help us get an idea of how to attack your query.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

If the returned value can vary in terms of the number format you want displayed in the chart the simplest way is to use 2 sets of data with correct number formatting applied to each.

The use named ranges to alter where the chart should find it's source data.

You can then remove the axis number format at set it back so it is linked to source.
    Cheers
