need 3 column chart to display ongoing status but can't figure out how to do it

I have 3 columns of data.

    1) Category (type of travel company)
    2) Name of Company
    3) status Accepted or completed)

    excel chart example.jpg

    Category >Company >Status
Ad Agency >Greatest Hotels Group, Inc. >Completed
    Ad Networks >Adslot >Accepted
    Ad Optimization >Merkle >Accepted
    Cruise >Princess Cruises >Completed
    Cruise >Celebrity Cruise Lines >Accepted

Does anyone know how to make a chart that shows this information graphically?

My goal is to show how many companies I have in specific categories that have either accepted or completed in the status.

Can you attach a sample workbook with enough data and maybe a mock up of what you are looking for as a result.

Go Advanced -> Manage Attachments -> Upload

I would suggest a simple pivot chart with the count of company name as the data.

    see attached example

I'd like to see the category column (A) on the X axis with (2)stacked columns next to each other
representing column B & C (Completed & Accepted). I'm unclear how to incorporate the name of the company into the chart. That's above my head

Here is my interpretation of Don's suggestion about using a pivot table and chart.
