Sorting Pivot Tables Text as Numeric

I love the help available on this forum, hope some can help this one.

Can a Pivot table sort something that looks like a number as numeric
I have a pivot table that obtains it's data from and series of cells that Concatenates the data into a single cells within a column. The first piece of data is a number. So we end up with "1.This is the stuff I report on".
It therefore sorts 1,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20. Can I get 1,2,3,4,5, etc?

if your text "numeric" will be like: 01.text, 02.text etc you can sort like you want

Thank you Sandy. The number is actually an age, so although that would be the simplest solution for most list (and I'll use it in the absence of another solution), but you wouldn't normally call someone "09 years old", but you could.

you can try with user defined list - more sort options / more options - but it doesn't work well
or
use additional column with 01,02...99 and use it as the first column in PT
or
PivotTable sorting
