Adding the year into my chart

Hi
Attached is a sample of the type of graph I am trying to build.

I would like the series line to look the same as what is attached, but would like the year to be along the x axis instead of the sample number. So ideally there would be just 4 marks on the x axis (one for each of 2009,2010,2011,2012)

When I try to plot the 'total' against the year, I just get a very ugly result.

Please help

Can you attach your sample workbook.

Go Advanced -> Manage Attachments -> Upload

But you only have 4 year values so if you plot these as your x-axis then whatever you plot on your y-axis will all be in the same vertical space, ie. the chart won't look the same as what you attached.
