Chart showing Location, Date & multi category quantity

    Hi,

I am not sure if this is possible and have dtruggled with it for some time, searched the web and not found what is needed. So any help is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to create a chart that shows the number of 2 categories across different countries over a period of time. So that progress can be seen of what is delivered.

    My table is designed like:

    Date 1 Date 2 Date 3
Item Type1 Item Type 2 Item Type1 Item Type 2 Item Type1 Item Type 2
    Country1
    Country 2
    Country 3

I am trying to chart this in a stacked column chart so that the 2 item types show as a percent progress. i.e. as item 1 increases item 2 decreases. I need to reflect this for each country over the different dates. I have tried different approaches in excel but have been unsuccessful in producing anything that works.

Essentially output I would like to achieve would be:

    Date 1 Date 2 Date 3 Date 4 Date 5
    Country 1
    Country 2
    Country 3
    10% 20% 30% 40% 50%...

Then the stacked bar for Item type 1 would show growth over time.

Is this possible or am I looking at this in the wrong way? A line chart with date points would be great to.

Thanks in advance for your kind help and time!

    Kind regards
    B

This is probably do-able with the the information in a table and formulas to generate the data to plot, OR with named dynamic ranges OR with a pivot table. A lot depends on how the data are organized. A sample work book would help us help you better..

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
