I need to create a pivotable and chart from a dataset but am struggling, please help

Help! I need a pivot table and chart making to show the following:

On my Y axis I need the response time
On my x axis I need the interval
My 2 lines in the graph should show array1 plotted against array2 for write response time

Basically I am comparing array1 and array2 against each other in the same graph.

    See the attached dataset.

Select the data in Sheet1, create a new pivot table and set:

    Columns: Array
    Rows: interval (seconds)
    Values: write resp

Select the pivot table data and create a new line graph, the defaults should build the graph you're after.
    Hope this helps,

Cool Re: I need to create a pivotable and chart from a dataset but am struggling, please help

That sorted it, annoyingly though I have to select the values in Values: write resp as a SUM, when I don't really want to add them up, just plot them. Still your solution works so thank you.

As long as the interval indices are unique for each array it should only ever sum a single item.
What you could do though is select "Value field settings" on the dropdown for write resp in Values, and change the calculation type to Average.
That way if you inadvertently take two measurements within a single second, it will average them rather than appearing as a double-high blip in the data.
    Hope this helps,

    Mike
