Sorting pivot table by grand total based on one of three multiple row values per cust

I’m sorry. I’m trying to do this on my phone. I’ll delete previous posts.

I have exhausted my search for an answer. I find it hard to believe it’s this difficult.

I have a pivot table, the first three rows are Sales Man, Customer, Last Date of Service then a row per customer over the last three years. There are 12 columns for each month.

So for each Sales Person/customer there will be up to three rows. I only want to sort based on row column Year = 2018.

My challenge is to first sort by Sales Person in descending order based on the grand total in descending order based on the current year. I’ve not been able to find a solution!!

I’ve posted before and haven’t gotten a reply. If someone could please help me to sort this out I would genuinely appreciate it. Getting a little hot round the collar at work.. know what I mean??!!

Thank you for any help you can provide!

I should also mention that there are 12 columns for each month. I realize there are work arounds when there are fewer columns but that is not the case in this scenario.

    Thank you.

Can you post a sample (workbook, not picture) of what you’ve got and a (manual) mock-up of what you want?

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm trying to figure out how to attach a file. Sorry, I'm new.

Re: Sorting pivot table by grand total based on one of three multiple row values per cust

I appreciate any help you can provide. I have attached a file to my post dated 11/6/2018. I don't have a mock up but I can point to examples of what I've sent. I had to scale my data quite considerably, so I'm not sure I've been able to capture a good reporting example but here goes:

The Sales_Rep's seem to be ordered correctly, with the highest total Revenue for 2018 in descending order (this is happenstance, as the full data file is all over the place in this regard).

The Customers within the first Sales_Rep (Harvey,Woodrow R.) should be in the following order (selecting top 5) based on Total Revenue for 2018:
Highland Custom Homes, LLC, Kasteel Enterprises, Hobgood Construction Co., Inc,, Kamil Momin, Burtz Custom Homes....etc.

Do you see my dilemma? It's quite possible that I am over thinking things...it has been known to happen before.

Thank you so much for any help you can provide!!!

If the filter in cell D7 (Year_) is set to display only 2018, then the names of the customers will appear in the order stated in post #5.
To display the values from the past three years in a pivot table, it may require adding helper columns to the source data.
