Pivot table ignore year but group month together. How? 2 question.

Hi, i have a list of date from 2018 to 2019 in column A. When i tried to do a pivot table. I am expecting Jan'18 Feb'18....Jan'19... etc.
However. i get Jan-Dec. N excel lump all my Jan'18 and Jan'19 to Jan.

    How should i solve this?

Right-click on one of the months in your pivot and Select Group and Group by Years as well.

Thanks. But can we show it as Jan'18 Feb'18 etc. Instead of Year on top, month below. I did what u say, and i get the below layout.
    2018
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec

You could maybe use another column in your source data and use a formula to make the cell value in the format mmm'yy then add that field to the pivot.

Ya, i know can be done that way, but i hope can do away with helper column. But just feel weird, since we can do the Number Format in the pivot table, y wont the Number Formatting work when i enter "mmm'yy"? Or does it recongnize the JAN FEB as text?
