Pivot table sorting and reflecting data issues

I import data as that have specific column headers names. Lets use: Name, Month, Profit. Under each header are numbers. I made a pivot table that shows these three columns and I want to sort by Profit from highest to lowest per month. For example, we should see January to December for Dave and in each months shows the profit from highest to lowest.

please ignore the dashes, that was the only way I can get the numbers to show under profit.

And so on and so forth. In the original data I sorted out all the data to be sorted by Profit largest to smallest, but when I refresh the data, the pivot table doesn't change.

Also, if I delete information from the original data and refresh, the pivot table doesn't reflect the items I deleted.

According to this tutorial the solution is "To refresh a pivot table, right-click on the pivot table and then select "Refresh" from the popup menu" when using the 2007 version of Excel.
