    Spectrum Chart

    Hello,

I designed a spectrum chart. Now I would like to know how I can fix the boarders of the scale, so that if the arrow/bar/pointer or whatever you want to call it, does not disappear when the value is higher or lower than the x-axis scale?

    Thanks

    Re: Spectrum Chart

    Hello,

thank you for your reply. As I see it the pointer now jumps backward when I have a value that is not within the scale.
What I am looking for is that it stops at the end of the scale, when I have a value higher or lower than what is marked on the x-axis scale.
f.e. at 1.0 in the example you attached when I have a value < 1..

    Best
    Matthias

    Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behaviour, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

    Re: Spectrum Chart

Sorry.. I didn't know the calculation of the vertical column in the first message, so I just sent the attachment without writing anything.
    1 - using % stacked bar chart
2 - comparing the backdrop and vertical column values and calculating the appropriate scale value
3 - blank chart series for both backdrop and vertical column. This is a series of scale value completion series.
I have updated the attachment in my first message.
    Thanks...

    Re: Spectrum Chart

OKey thanks, this is a step forward. The last thing I need is, that when the value is 130 % the arrow is at 100% an the x-axis is not getting braoder..--> This means that x axis is alwa from zero to 1 and if the arrow goes over the top on one side of the axis it simpy stops at 1 or 0 and the bars from the backdrop are visibile as if the arrow was in the middle.

    Thank you agian.

    Re: Spectrum Chart

x axis from 0 to 1...Because it is a property of the %100 stacked bar chart.

I don't understand your question exactly.
Could you explain by entering the value on the attachment I sent?

If Backdrops starts from another value instead of zero, or arrow starts before backdrops
**For the starting point of the backdrops you need to add a blank serie.. (from zero to starting point of backdrops)

    Re: Spectrum Chart

    Okey,

I have added your example with Little changes. Also the current value of the arrow is now 101. As you can see the arrow starts to move backward into the direction of 0 the more you go over 100... if I put in the value of 150 the arrow will be at 50. I would hovewer prefer if it was at 100 and stay there if i ´have a value more than 100... by the way I did not use % stacked bar Chat but just a stacked bar Chat. ´Therefor could not reproduce your Chart. if you have a describtion somewhere it would be great too.

    Best, Matthias

    Re: Spectrum Chart

First, set a limit value for the Maxi Scale.
There is a condition for graphics to occur.
    (Total +start)Backdrop ≤ Scale Maximum

If the arrow value exceeds the value of the maxi scale, the arrow will be fixed at the maxi scale value.

I have updated the attachment in message #7
