How to replicate an existing chart

Hi, I am looking at this https://chandoo.org/wp/60-sports-in-six-charts/ and especially the first chart, the charts are avalible for download at the end of the page.

I have my data in the same way as in the link but I don't understand the different steps needed.

How can I replicate or create a similar chart?

The chart is a xyscatter with multiple series to plot the boxes, labels, score and random scattered data.

The orange dots are a simple scatter series.
The label and series for select sport are also simple scatters but with data labels linked to cells.
The Boxes series uses a box shape as it's marker. Select and copy the box shape, then select the Boxes series and paste.
    Cheers

I have given you instructions to replicate.
What exactly are you havin issues with. Post a workbook with the chart you have managed to create so we can see how far you got, if you can not explain in words.

It is not a difficult chart. All 3 series are xy-scatter just formatted differently with data for each series coming from different locations. The only complex bit is the linking of data labels to cells but with 2016 this is a built in function of data labels called, get values from cells.
