How to create an Excel "sliding" bar chart

Howdy folks. I'm looking to create a sort of "sliding" bar chart in Excel. This chart will have a "whisker" that extends out to 100% and the bar chart will only fill the appropriate space among the whisker.

Could anyone help me recreate this chart in Excel?

    Thanks much!

    Marc

Have you got some actual data you could share with us so that we don't have to reinvent the wheel?

    Hi Richard,

Nothing major, but I can create a standard bar chart off of the following data:

    Graph 1 44%
    Graph 2 72%
    Graph 3 70%
    Graph 4 62%
    Graph 5 81%

    Thanks

It looks to me like a basic bar chart (which you say you can already create) with a positive error bar added to the data series. Assuming you have the data in post #3 and the basic bar chart created, I would expect to:

    1) Add a column that calculates the difference between the datum and 100%. =1-B2 (assuming the data are in column B and this column is probably in column C).
    2) Select the chart and the data series and add the error bars https://support.office.com/en-us/art...5-864049a145f0
    3) Format the error bars so that they
3a) only show the positive error bar
3b) have a custom value for the positive error bar taken from column C.
3c) any other formats that are needed.

    Does that help?
