Gantt Chart - Primary Horizontal Axis Doesn't Match Data

    Hi everyone,

I use a Gantt chart for my work and today, I added a new date duration. Unfortunately, the Primary Horizontal Axis (the axis which shows the month) doesn't match what I have for the data. Please see attached.

Example 1 - Under sheet "July 2018" you will see that under Project 4 - Scope out is due to start on 01/01/2019. Now, when you go to the Gantt Chart it suggests that the start date is actually passed already. It seems therefore that the date axis on the top of the gantt chart doesn't match the data that feeds into it.

any help that anyone could give would be great

    Thanks

If you add days to the date number format you will see the red line is actually 30th Jan and not the 1st

I modified your example to add a xy-scatter series to plot the red line, which will update to display today.
The new date format on the axis labels shows the january major gridline is not the 1st of Jan.

Re: Gantt Chart - Primary Horizontal Axis Doesn't Match Data

Hi Andy, thank you very much for your kind contribution. The scatter line is very helpful indeed.

Just so I can format it, is there a way of changing the gridlines so that 1st Jan starts on one vertical line and 1st Feb starts on the following vertical line?

    Thank you again

I changed the Today series to a Line Chart.
Added a secondary horizontal axis, which can be formatted as a date axis.
The major axis setting is now 1 month. Secondary vertical grid lines are used instead of primary ones.
You need to adjust the primary horizontal axis to have the same start and finish values in order for series to align.

I have left the primary axis visible but you can format that to have no labels.
