Removing axis labels from a bar chart

    Hello,

I have to get top 5 task names for every quarter of 2018. I created a pivot table which I have attached as an image.
From that I have created a bar chart as shown in the attachment.
I need to remove these labels of the task names and want to keep the quarter labels and want to add the task names as legend. Is there a way to get this result?Screenshot (9).png

Move the Task from the row pane of the pivot table to the Column pane.

If that doesn't do what you want, you will probably need to to some heavy chart tricking, i.e. not use a pivot chart.

Thank you for the above solution. I just need to remove the gaps between the bars in that particular quarter, so the values that are zero in that category is there a way to remove the gaps?

If you want to remove the gaps, you will need to do a lot of manual manipulation and you won't be able to use a pivot chart and the benefits it provides for quickly updating the chart when the data changes.

By design, clustered charts have one slot for each data series. In this case, each task is a data series. If a task does not feature in a quarter, the slot is empty. That's how clustered charts work.

You can take a look at this approach here to apply a manual hack, but it wont be dynamic when you refresh your pivot data.
