# Building simple pivot table

1. ## Building simple pivot table

Hi,

i have simple formula in table like here:

Screenshot_15.png

I would like to build pivot table which will be calculating (Disk Size + Disk Capacity) for row 1, (Disk Size + Disk Capacity) for row 2, and multiply by Servers value = 2. And have total for each Item.
So whole formula is (Disk Size + Disk Capacity) + (Disk Size + Disk Capacity) * Servers Value.

How can i do this using pivot table?

Best,
Jacek

You can't use a value that isn't part of the source data. You'll need to put the servers value into a table, load both into the data model and then create calculated fields/measures in Power Pivot.

3. ## Re: Building simple pivot table

hi rorya,

thank you. Maybe PQ has possibility to build something like that?

Can you provide example for my attachment?

Best,
Jacek

4. ## Re: Building simple pivot table

Which formula do you actually want? The one you show doesn't actually match your description, so do you want this:

(Disk Size + Disk Capacity) + (Disk Size + Disk Capacity) * Servers Value.

or this:

((Disk Size + Disk Capacity) + (Disk Size + Disk Capacity)) * Servers Value.

The second option,

very difficult for me,
still example would be needed.

8. ## Re: Building simple pivot table

How far did you get, and what problems did you face?

9. ## Re: Building simple pivot table

How this can help me?

I need create calculated fileds somehow.

10. ## Re: Building simple pivot table

Your server numbers needs to be a parameter as it is not part of the data table that you want to use it in.

Hi rorya,

sorry for my late answer. Thank you for your help and support!
I changed my model and workaround this parameter value:
1. I grouped data by sum
2. And as the last step multiply by column paramater.

Best,
Jacek
