Combo chart with column and scatter

    Hi all,

I've spent the last hour trying to edit a combo chart I've put together for column and scatter.

Everything looks fine with this chart until I change the data series marked as "Line Data" to work on a secondary axis. At that point all the markers for the data series disappear except for the first five - which are all in the correct place.

For some reason, no matter how many times I do it, modify it or try to adjust it I can't get the remaining markers on the line graph to show up in the chart. There's probably a criteria that I'm not aware of for the X series in defining the data points for the scatter graph. But I can't figure it out.

I've attached the spreadsheet. I'm just trying to get the series marked as Line Data to show up for all the values across the chart. At the moment it is only displaying the values for D6:D10.

I'm not sure why this should be the case, but I often find that I need to add the secondary horizontal axis in order to get these kind of combo charts to work. In your file I:

    1) Select chart -> Layout -> Axes -> Secondary horizontal axis -> show default axis. This displays the secondary horizontal axis at the top, and all of the scatter data points show up.
    2) Select the secondary horizontal axis and format to have fixed minimum at 0.5 and fixed maximum at 5.5, to match up with the values that correspond to the categories of the primary horizontal axis.

That fixed it so that all of the "line data" points are on the chart and in the correct position. If desired, when everything is done and you are satisfied with the chart, you can format the secondary horizontal axis to be invisible (no line, no label, no tick mark).

    That works perfectly.
