    Automatically Update Selection Choices

This has probably been asked a million times in here, but I'm not sure how to word what I'm looking for succinctly.

I have a pivot table with three different 'area' filters. Basically it would be the same as 'Country', 'State', 'City.

I want my pivot table to react upon changing my selection. If I choose Canada, for example, from the country dropdown, I would like to only see Canadian provinces in my next filter. Is this possible, or can anyone think of a totally different way of accomplishing this in Excel?

    Thanks!

Slicers are the perfect solution for that. with the right setting they will only show the possible choices based on the underlining data.
you can set in the slicer settings (right click slicer and pick settings from the quick menu) it lets you decide to gray out unavailable options or even hide

Of course! That makes perfect sense, thank you! At the same time, do you know if it's possible to accomplish what I'm trying through the traditional drop downs?

For that you could use dependant dropdowns

google that you will find many many explanations either with formulas or more "advanced" with VBA and form controls
