Removing SUMs at Parent level in a pivot table

    Hi,

Please could anyone let me know if there is a way to prevent the SUM of each category appearing at parent level, and just leave it blank?

I have a pivot table which displays categories along the column headings (such as Volume, Value, Margin etc). In the rows it displays customer and year_type underneath that. Year_type is a year with the type of value (for example, PriorYear_Actual or CurrentYear_Budget or CurrentYear_Actual)

The values are obviously the values of volume, value, margin etc

My problem is that at Customer level I am seeing a SUM of the YearType column which is a meaningless value (e.g. the current year budget volume, plus the current year actual volume plus last years actual volume is of no use) and I'd like it to be blank.

    Thanks in advance

Yes, using Power Pivot. You'd need to post a sample file though, or search for how to use a different function at totals levels in power pivot (in your case you'd want BLANK rather than an aggregate function).

    Thanks Rorya,

Bit weird - I've just tried using Power Pivot (which I've tried before and had the same problem) and it's not including the parent totals. So it's doing exactly what i want now, without me doing anything! I am using a test dataset, so i'll see what happens on the live data and try and understand this and post back when I've understood this!
