Lightbulb Creating chart for missing periods of time

    Hello everybody,

at work we newly imported outlook back up files of the last 15 years - about 200 files were imported . Every back up file covers certain time period of certain user but since not everything could be imported, some mails are missing. We created an Excel list with users and periods of time for which we have the backed up e-mails.
Now my task is to create a graph for missing e-mails (meaning for which periods of time there are no mails).

Do you have an idea how to do it?

    Thank you in advance.

Assuming the X-Axis is the dates:

Right click on the axis and then select Format Axis. Under Axis Options select Date Axis.

Date Axis fills in the gaps between dates. Text axis will only display those dates in the data.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

Which kind of diagram would you recommend to choose? There are for every file the earliest mail date and the latest.
And how to make it that Excel will show periods of time for each file so that we can see which period is missing?

    Thank you, Dflak!

If you provide a sample workbook, I could give you a demonstration.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
