Hi guys.
We have started a soccer prediction competition for "Eliteserien" in Norway. There's a total of 22 persons who have predicted the final result, who of course wants to be updated about the score from time to time. Here I thought "Superb, Excel probably has a good solution to this" but while I thought this, then of course I forgot that I can't even make a Pivot table. Doing this manually every round, I am sure is unnecessary, and I hope there's some relatively experienced people in here who have a good idea of how to solve this.
First I'll explain as well as I can, whether something is unclear, then just shout out. I'll of course help you as best I can, helping myself.
In the "Eliteserien" there are 16 teams in total, so "Table A" will then be the real table that's up to date from week to week. "Table B" (x22) is the table of the 22 people who have predicted their 16.
The rules are pretty simple, the correct prediction gives zero points, and you get one point per place you have predicted wrong. The goal is to have as few points as possible.
i.e: "Vålerenga" is one team some have predicted in third place (Table B), they are now in third place (Table A) after the first round, which then gives zero points. "Rosenborg", on the other hand, is one team many have predicted in the first place, they are now in 16th place, this gives 15 points, as one is 15 places away from what they have predicted.
What I want to do, if possible, is to create "Table A" with values (Right place is zero points, wrong place is one point), which I can then get "Table B" to adjust itself after updating "Table A" - if that is understandable. So I don't have to go through 22 tables and update manually every single round. Someone who has an idea on how to do this?
Pardon my english, I've tried to formulate to the best of my abilities.
Sincerly
Me
Edit: I've also posted this question on a Norwegian forum, but has not gotten a response, therefore I've also posted here (Cross-posting)
