Need help in creating a burnup or a burndown chart to showcase the progress of the work

    Hello,

I just on-boarded a work to create a map for an area and the numbers we deal are KMs. Let's say, by 04/19, I need to complete 42K KMs of mapping. I need create a burn down or a burn up chart showcasing the progress, which includes, ideal burndown/burnup along with the completed and planned one.

I am attaching my data that I want to use a base for this request. The ones highlighted are my target for each day. For eg. We considered only three working days (started on 3 Apr) for Week commencing 1-Apr and rest of the weeks have been considered to have 5 days. Hence, accordingly, the planned KMs are calculated.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

I don't understand which of the rows in the data would be considered as "completed".
It would seem the row of "planned" values is "Cumulative KMs/Week". However those values don't seem to match up well with "...by 04/19, I need to complete 42K KMs of mapping..."
I feel as if we could better help if you could tell us which rows of data should be used for "planned" and "completed".

I am not sure I understand what you want. As a first guess, I:

    1) Ran a quick internet search for burnup chart and found this: http://brodzinski.com/2012/10/burn-u...burn-down.html It looks like a burnup/burndown chart is a basic line chart.
    2) To create a line chart in Excel from the spreadsheet in post #3, follow steps as outlined here https://www.excel-easy.com/data-analysis/charts.html
    2a) Select A1:P3.
2b) Insert -> Line chart -> line without markers (or other subtype)
2c) If Excel errs in choosing the ranges for the data series, pull up the Select Data dialog and fix Excel's mistakes
    3) Other formatting as desired.

Which step do you have trouble with?

See if this will do what you want.
A range of dates is produced using: =IF(B9="","",IF(WORKDAY(B9,1)>P$1,"",WORKDAY(B9,1)))
The desired burndown by date is produced using: =IF(B10="","",C$9-SUMIFS(B$2:P$2,B$1:P$1,"<="&B10))
The actual burndown by date is produced using: =IF(OR(B10="",INDEX(B$3:P$3,MATCH(B10,B$1:P$1,0))=""),NA(),D$9-SUMIFS(B$3:P$3,B$1:P$1,"<="&B10))
A line chart displays both desired and actual burndown.
