Pie chart - Cities & Amounts

    Hello everyone.
I would like to make a pie chart with the following data.
I have three different cities in one column (A) that are linked with some amounts in another column (B).
What I would like to do is to have a pie chart that might tell me how many money I have been spending on every city.

Eg: I would like to know how many money I spent on BCN, how many on CH and how many on MUC, and then have a pie chart.

Could you suggest me how to proceed?

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Histeven,

You can do it with a a Pivot Chart. Insert one, change the Chart type to Pie Chart and add the city in Axis and the amount in Values.

If you want to use a normal chart, you'll need to make some additional calculations. You need to calculate on a separate location the total amount for each city. For example in a new sheet list all available months. Then using SUMIF, calculate the total amount for each city. After that just select the new data set and add a Pie Chart.

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you Pinexl!
Can I make this automatic, for every time I add some new data? Or I will be able to make it only when the whole chart will be "closed"?
I mean can I make the chart dynamic, so that it will link the abbreviation of the city to the respective amount and be up to date for every new data?

If you go with the Pivot Chart option, then it will be dynamic - you will only need to click on the Refresh button and everything will be updated.

For the second option, you'd have to add the new city manually to the data set feeding the chart.
