An Object-Placement Graph based on chronology

I have data objects coming in sequentially which I want to visualize on a chronological timeline. I was thinking of splitting up the timeline into chunks, such as 1st 5, 2nd 5, 3rd 5, and so on.

Objects can have different properties. The most important is Category, and I chose it as the Y-axis. There are other properties too, such as Type, which I denote with a different color/shape or icon.

Is something like this possible?

Short but useless answer -- Yes, something like this is possible. I am having a hard time understanding exactly what "this" is. I see a mix of a bar/stacked bar and something else.

Considering what your starting data looks like, I am inclined to say that the starting place for this chart is going to be creating the summary data. Exactly what the summary data looks like is not clear to me (counts of data types in time frame??). A pivot table might be useful, or maybe some other formula. Once you have the summary data generated, then you can build a chart based on the summary data.
