How to use Formula in Chart Filters > Edit Data > Chart Data Range

    Hello friends,
Although I'm beginning to believe it won't be possible to do what I'm asking, I'll hope for the best.
I've included a small Testing.xlsx to show what I'm attempting to do. This is equivalent to what a Pivot table would do automatically.
I'd like the 'Chart Data Range' to use a formula to retrieve the dynamic dimensions of my DATA from DATA!$C$2 rather than an absolute value DATA!A2:B4.
I've tried INDIRECT() every way I could think of, without success.
Please point the proper means to accomplish this if it is possible.
    Thanks so much!

    Hello,

You can use dynamic range names to plot the data you want to plot.

I can't make much sense of your attached file. It only has constants for the chart values, so I can't see what you want to do.

Can you upload a workbook with some sample data and explain what you would like to see as the result?

Using dynamic range names for chart series is totally doable, but it takes some planning, so , seeing your data would be a great place to start.

Hi teylyn, thanks for the reply.
Maybe you didn't see the two tabs: DATA and Chart1.
The DATA tab has the data table, A2:B5. That is all the data I'm using in this example.
I have a formula in DATA!C2 that will dynamically change whenever more data is added. For example, in row six if you add "Five" to A6 and 7 to B6 you will see C2 change from $A$2:$B$5 to $A$2:$B$6.
If you go to the Chart1 page and open the chart filter to edit the Chart Data Range you'll see that I had manually entered the range. I would like a FORMULA in that location to goto DATA!$C$2 and use that RANGE to create the chart. If you added the data in row six as I described the formula in C2 would automatically make the chart include a bar for row 6.

I hope I have made it more clear. Please let me know if you can help or if I need to explain more clearly. Thanks!

Would changing the data range to a table (as modeled in the attached copy of the file) be an option?
