I do not have a combine option - Power Query

    Hey,

This is going to be a hard one to upload, so I'll try my best to explain. I have a couple files in a folder, set up the exact same way (I copied one and changed the file name). I then have another file that I want to give me both of the tables in each of these files combined. So in 2016, I click Data, New Query, From File, From Folder, I browse for the folder that contains my 2 files and click ok, from the tutorials I have followed online I should then have the option to combine, however this is missing, I only have Load.

Any help appreciated. I've attached the MASTER document I want to contain all my data and then 1 of my Template docs where the data will be input.

    Thanks,

Cannot replicate your issue. I downloaded both files. Placed them in a New Folder on my desktop. In another excel file I was able to combine and edit when I went to Get Data from File from Folder. No issue. I am running 2019.

Is your copy of Excel fully up to date?

So the combine button is missing in Sample query interface?

Then as Rory suggested, I'd check that your PowerQuery is up to date.

You can still combine files by going into Edit menu. Find "Content" column. You should see double down arrow icon. Click on it and it will give you "Combine Files" interface.

If double down arrow icon is missing, then I'd recommend clean re-install of Excel/Office Suites.

According to IT I'm all up to date.

Thank you CK76, I've managed to get it working following your instructions! It's annoying it didn't work in the first place but at least it's now working.

    cheers everyone
