I'm sure this is really simple but I can't figure it out. I want to display a quarterly revenue variance in a pivot table, but the quarters I want to compare are in the same column in the source data (labelled 'Qtr').
I can add a second Revenue field under values and use 'Show Values As..', but then I end up with superfluous empty column which I don't want. Think I'm approaching this in totally the wrong way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You probably just need to add a calculated field to your PT definition and set it to be Q4-Q3
However upload the workbook so that we may see the request in context.

Hi Richard. Thanks for your response, I've added the attachment, which is a quick example I've put together.

You just need to add a the 'Rev' field a second time in the Values area of the PT and change the settings to 'Show Values as differece from'...and pick 'Qtr' and 'previous'
