One chart of many not displaying the correct data

    Hi all,

A few months ago I managed to create, with the help of a couple of great guys from here, a worksheet with 31 charts on it. The charts displayed data from 31 various rows on other worksheets. At the top of the WS with the charts are some buttons that select which WS the data comes from. It works great, just the way I wanted it to. When I press a button it retrieves the data from that WS and displays it. Press another button and the charts update to the data from that WS. EXCEPT for one chart. This one chart only displays the data from the first WS with data. I have tried deleting it and redoing it, copying another chart and changing the data source but nothing sems to work. I have checked all the properties between the charts and they SEEM all the same. At first I thought it might have been the macros attached but it can't be because the macros are identical for each button. Unfortunately I can't post the workbook due to commercial reasons. Can someone please direct me in the correct direction. Also this is happening across 4 workbooks I have made, cut and paste of course, so I have cut and pasted the problem. I really am at a loss as to where to look.

If you delete most of the data, and just leave a few desensitised rows that illustrate the issue, that would be best.

Just leave one chart that works and the one that doesn't.

Difficult to help without a sample.

Just to clarify a bit. When I select the buttons and the other 30 charts change I checked the data source for the problem chart and that is not changing. The data source stays as the first sheet. All the other charts change and the data source changes.

Yes I know that. I need to know why this one chart isn't changing like the others. To my best memory I think I created them all the same. It was all done one the one day in a nice boring repetative manner but who knows, I may have dozed off.

If you attach your sample I'm sure someone could help you.

Problem is a lot of macro changes to be able to do that. I will see what I can do over the weekend if I get time.

I am not sure if this will help but I thought I would post this in the mean time while I try and sort out a sample workbook.

Does your initial rng statement include the rows that should be used for your problem chart?

Yes. I can change the row that is sourced and it still does the same thing.

There has to be a setting somewhere or a step that I have missed and I am still missing. I have recreated the chat a dozen times and I can't see anywhere that would affect the data source auto updating. As I said the other 30 charts work fine.

    Ok people. SOLVED......I think.

It appears that somehow the chart number got changed. When I changed and reordered the charts it appears to be working. I will make sure I check the others before making this solved but so far I think it is.

Re: One chart of many not displaying the correct data

    Yep. Solved.

I had duplicate chart numbers and it was only updating the first chart with that number. When I copied a chart I never changed the number so it got the same as the original. When I created a new chart the chart number was out of the range of the macro.
