Is there a way to automatically set the chart preferences so that the point labels are posted away from the Line chart so they can be more easily read without having to go in and manually move each one?001.PNG

You can set them all to 'above' which will make it a bit easier. Right click one of the numbers, click format data labels then chose your options.

If you need them arranged differently, i.e. so some are above, some below, some to the right so you can see them all without the chance of any being obscured by the line, then Excel is sadly missing the "best fit" option I'm afraid.
