    Average Line

    Hello everyone,
I have some Stress-Strain charts of steel Fibres in Concrete ( 6 tests - check the attachement) the X axis is the strain and the y axis is the stress. I need to draw the average line of all lines. the problem is, that the data alligned. I mean X values are not equal in each sheet. Example: the cell number 2000 has in a sheet X=3 in another one X=3,56 . That means i cant make an average vlaue column and put it in the chart.
    any help ?

    Re: Average Line

    How about adding another series?

Which uses all data points from each series and plot trendline based on it.

Edit: Found a good article on the subject. See link below.

    hi CK76,
thx for your answer. I dont think i can make another series. I can give a simple example of the case. please check the attachement. the X values are not compatible with each other.

    Re: Average Line

Hmm? It doesn't matter if x has different values. They are all within chart range 0~4.5 no?

If you need further help, I'd recommend uploading sample workbook.

To upload, use "Go Advanced" button, and follow "Manage Attachments" hyperlink. It will open new tab/window to manage uploads.

    Edit:
If you need to do something more mathematical... you'd first need to find polynomial trend line equation for each series.
Then solve each for same x value, and average y values. Plot new series using averaged y value.
